Mark Arts, located in Wichita, KS, is celebrating its 100th Anniversary! To kick off this momentous occasion they set up a Regional Fine Art Exhibition, sending out a call to fine artists in six states – Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The range of work included two dimensional pieces (oil, acrylic, encaustic, graphite, pastel), three dimensional (ceramic, mixed media, marble), and fine jewelry. It is quite the show!
I was able to attend the Opening Reception on January 3rd, 2020 at the stunning Mark Arts building. Besides great fine art they even had a three piece band providing delightful background music. What an Opening!
Here is the first place winner from Mark Arts 100. A finely rendered and gripping piece by Ernest Vincent Wood III.

Here are a few other pictures I took at the Opening. Even got to meet the fun gal whose work (“Tumbling Through”) was displayed next to mine. Jen Unikes is from Lawrence, KS.
Even kids were at the Opening, including this little one!

I hope some of these images will stir you to see this six state Regional Exhibit at Mark Arts and join in their Mark Art 100 Celebration!
